Born into the arts, Celina Licsko began painting and drawing at a very early age.  To say that she was encouraged would be an understatement, she was totally immersed in the art world.  Growing up, life was all about art, creation, and beauty. 

Being the youngest in the family, Celina was a natural performer, reveling in every minute of audience time.  Even with an inherent love of painting, she rebelled by acting well into her twenties, wanting to stand out on her own in a family of great talent.  But she could not deny the pure joy of painting.  Focusing on fusing the play of acting and the technique of painting, Celina has created a style all her own.  Finding inspiration in artists like Rothko, Pollock, the old masters and the Licskos, of course, she has a unique color and texture palette.

"I love mixing beautiful, rich colors with gritty textures.  Kind of salty and sweet, naughty but nice."  Switching to acrylics in early 2007, Celina found great pleasure in experimenting with all the vibrant colors and diverse textures.  "Everytime I went to the canvas I would discover something new, its been very exciting.  I love oils, one can create some truly magnificent colors, but for me, acrylic is so much more fun when it comes to abstractions."

"There is so much beauty all around us, its hard not to be inspired. I want to do my part by putting more beauty back into the world."
