For Joanne Licsko art has been a life-long passion but it was not until 1970 when she met and later married artist Frank Licsko that she began to realize her dream.
Joanne was his favored model for over twenty-five years and hundreds of paintings while he generously guided her painting skills along the way.
Happily devoting herself to family life, she painted only enough to keep learning until their two children were independent, believing that they were her most important creations ever. Returning to her art full time was a challenging adjustment and she found she had to reinvent herself and her work.
"At this time in my life, my work reflects my interest in subjects with a feminine perspective. I embrace being a woman and marvel at the myriad of creative opportunities to express and explore my femininity. My subjects evolve from the inspiration found in the kitchen, the bedroom, and within myself through introspection. From the mundane to the divine, it is my desire to capture and share the beauty in it all". |
